Usage:
The versatile Ty Linking Machine offers a mechanical means of dividing
filled casings of all types into links of practically any desired
length. Special Linker Machine Thread is wrapped four times around the
casing at each link, thus assuring tetention of product conformation
during the smoking, cooking and chilling cycles.
In operation, the Ty Linking Machine intermittently feeds and links
filled casings at the rate of 122 links per minute. As two winder heads
are employed, two links are formed at each completed tying cycle. This
means that for each tying cycle the feeders must move enough casing
into the machine to make two links of a length equal to the distance
between the winder heads. One link is formed between the winder heads,
and therefore must be of a length equal to the distance between the
heads, while the length of the ceond link is equal to the total length
of casing fed into the machine, less the length of the first link. The
distance between the heads is adjustable for various length products,
and since the feeders must move enough casing into the machine to make
two links, an adjustement is provided to control the travel of the feed
belts.
